our mission

We are seeking a provincial policy and guidelines for kids at school living with diabetes in Alberta. Currently in Canada only 5 provinces have policies in place, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Labrador, Quebec (en français) and British Columbia. Every child with diabetes, no matter where they live in Alberta, should have the same level of care and protection while at school.

The Canadian Diabetes Association has developed a position statement relating to the rights of kids at school loving with diabetes. An Alberta policy would address the 6 key points outlined in the Canadian Diabetes position statement. The original document can be found under one of the tabs on this site.
